Joanne Lo: 2016 IoT Workshop

Beyond smartwatches and fitness monitors, wearable technology is being incorporated into our lives in more natural and seamless ways. In this talk, we will explore a few possibilities of building wearable technology by augmenting ubiquitous and familiar objects. Moreover, we will examine users' perspectives on information gathering and displays as wearable technology gets increasingly intimate and personal.

Joanne Lo is a PhD Candidate studying EECS at UC Berkeley with Professor Eric Paulos. She holds a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering and M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on nanophotonics/nanofabrication, from UC Davis. Prior to entering the PhD program, Joanne served as a Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories, where she managed the research and development of novel sensors for homeland security and weapons applications. At UC Berkeley EECS, Joanne majored in Human Computer Interactions, exploring novel ways to interact with the rapidly evolving landscape of technology.
